Hebrews Chapter 10 Verse by Verse
General
Theme of Hebrews 10:
Heb 10 continues revealing
sin imputing law is imperfect:
can never make comers
thereunto perfect;
And sacrifices (offerings) for sin, which God never took pleasure in,
can't purge the conscience. Only doing the will of God
results in
receiving the promise; And the will of God that Jesus Christ is
come to do ("Lo, I come to do thy will O God"; "thy will be done on
earth as in heaven"), even did before
the cross,
is take away
law to establish grace, which is take away sacrifice to establish
"merciful" (Lk 6:36), which is perfect (Mt 5:48). For sacrifice
(offering), and for sin, which is "by the law" and "of the law", is
"despite" to the "Spirit of grace", which does not impute sin
for the hell of it, and thereby
requires no sacrifice
for sin. On the contrary law
imputes sin, making
sinners all. Thereby all die from grace + law = life + death = dead
end, for the penalty (by law) for any sin by anyone is all die by the
curse of the law hidden in Deuteronomy: if any fail to keep all the law
all the time unto 1,000 generations, then all are accursed. Law
produces sin conscienceness which sacrifice can't purge; Not to mention
evil
concupiscence is abusive to children and beastial Rev 13 law<-law
makes the latter end worse,
not better, for
all.
.............................................................
Hebrews 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things
to come, [and] not the very image of the things, can never with those
sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers
thereunto perfect.
The law is referred to as having a "shadow" (dark version) of good
(God) things to come. So it's not the very (true) image of the things,
but a false image. For there is no "shadow" of turning in God, nor any
darkness in "that God is light, and in him there is no darkness at
all". Furthermore law, being faulty and imperfect, can never make
comers thereunto perfect. Be ye perfect as your Father in heaven is
perfect in Mt 5:48 is also merciful in Lk 6:36. And merciful is void of
sacrifice(slaughter), when grace is void of law, which is perfection
noted in Heb 6:1.
Hebrews 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be
offered? because that the worshippers once purged
should have had no
more conscience of sins.
Chp 10 continues affirming what is noted in chp 9: the
law, offerings and sacrifices thereof, cannot purge the conscience of
sins. So it's like an endless merry go round, not only in Mosaic
times, but in churches today. Law imputes sin, demands sacrifice for
sin, the death penalty for jaywalking, but sacrifices can never purge
the conscience. Hebrews did it annually. Gentile churches do it weekly.
Year after year, week after week, the merry go round goes round.
Hebrews 10:3 But in those [sacrifices
there is] a remembrance again [made]
of sins every year.
In laws, sacrifices thereof, is remembrance of sins, not
eradication of sin via abolition of law. With Hebrews it's yearly, but
with Gentiles it's weekly, and for Roman Catholics it's daily.
Hebrews 10:4 For [it is] not possible that the blood of bulls and
of goats should take away sins.
It seems evident such law abiding, sacrificial bloodshed,
can't possibly take away sins. For it is law which actually imputes
sin: Romans 5:13, not which takes away sin. And all sacrifices for sin
are of the law and by the law, which continually imputes sin and
remembrance of sins.
Hebrews 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he
saith, Sacrifice
and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou
prepared me:
The scriptures reveal the only true God of two Gods would not have
any sacrifice at all, never
desired sacrifice for sin, never found it acceptable, would not accept
nor compromise with any
sacrifice and offering for sin. It flat out states it in places like
Psalms
40:6; Psalms 50:7-9; Psalms 51:16; Isaiah 1:11; Jeremiah 6:20; Hosea
6:6; Amos 5:21,22; Matthew 9:13; Matthew 12:7; and especially Hebrews
10. And
reviewing Noah's
Ark story we find God did not request seven nor any
sacrifice after the flood, rather LORD did, and therein Genesis 6 - 8
the commandments(plural) of God
and the LORD are "contrary", as contrary and two and seven.
Hebrews 10:6 In burnt offerings and [sacrifices]
for sin thou hast had no
pleasure.
Notably God never
ever took any pleasure, none,
in any sacrifice or
offerings for sin, for such would be as grace taking
pleasure in law,
which is as absurd as life taking pleasure in death, is as absurd as
putting new wine in old wine bottles... the result being they all
burst; the POINT being "by the using of ordinances all perish", so
"touch not, taste not, handle not" any law law.
Hebrews 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come
(in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will,
O God.
Here we find the sole purpose of Jesus Christ coming, with grace and
truth, is to do the will of
God, which is stated as "I will have mercy,
and not sacrifice" in Hos 6:6 and given as a go figure in Mt 9:13 to ye
do err folk. When we go figure, we find it meaneth I will have grace,
and not law; I will have truth, and not lie; I will have love, and not
fear. We could also say it meaneth I will have understanding, and not
ignorance... a theme of Pauline epistles. For God will not only
have all men saved, but also all men aware what they are saved from.
And as we'll see in Heb 11 receiving the promise is only by doing the
will of God; For those all who did not do the will of God all "died"
and "received not the promise". Selah.
Hebrews 10:8 Above when
he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and [offering] for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst
pleasure [therein]; which are
offered by the law;
Clarity. If what God will not have, will not accept, is sacrifice of
the law and by the law, then it reasons His Grace will not have, not
accept, nor make any compromise with any law; not even the second law
of Mt 22 and Rom 8. For law imputes sin,
which demands sacrifice(slaughter); Law also demands perfection, but
law doesn't make perfect nor
does sacrifice purge the conscience of sin. So those saying: be law
abiding to 'please' God are lying(lawing), many "such like" being more the
child of hell than Jews were in Mt 23, for they were under the law.
Hebrews 10:9 Then said
he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he
may establish
the second.
Clarity. It's not sacrifice which purges sin, but doing
the will of God, which is to take away the first: law, to establish the
second: grace; take away the first: lie, to establish the second:
truth; take away the first: sacrifice, to establish the second: mercy.
In the same manner peace is only established by taking away war, the
sides war of law/grace in the heavens; and to the point of blotting out
ordinances (laws), whether written in stone or ink, till such things
vanish.
1st - Law (law and lie was given by Moses)... press DELETE to "take
away" lie
2nd - Grace (grace and truth came by JC)... press SAVE to "establish" the truth
1st - new and dead way of new
apostolic movement... also
a dead end: press delete
2nd - new and living way: above forgiving one another,
above a
servant: press save
Pst - ya don't put new wine in old bottles, which is what a "new"
apostolic movement is doing.
Pst - Their end?
It will be according to their (grace + law = life + death = dead end)
"works"!
Hebrews 10: 10 By the
which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus
Christ once [for all].
It is by God's will we are sanctified, a seventh day thing, and such is
" through" the offering
of the body of Jesus
=> Christ: the end of the law;
And once, not annually nor weekly nor daily. We shouldn't get hung up
on the cross, nor on Jesus, but go through the cross to risen and seated with
Christ: the end of the law, leaving law nailed as the enmity. For "that
God" was in "Christ" reconciling the world. In Christ: the end of the
law, there is no sin (hence no law). To wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world
unto himself, not imputing sin: 2Cor 5:19.
Hebrews 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering
and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away
sins:
The point made is not to accuse nor condemn priests, but
to bring awareness sacrifices can never take away sins; for sacrifices
are of the law, which not only imputes sin, but is also the strength of
sin. Hence sacrifices give place to law which gives place to sin, a
merry go round.
Hebrews 10:12 But this man,
after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the
right hand of God;
The only offering for sins which would be acceptable
is one whereby law got abolished, which is allegorically the death of
death, since law a ministration of death. So he took grace + law, made
it grace vs law (division), took such to the cross where law nailed and
abolished, and His grace void of law goes on through to risen &
seated on the right hand of God as what's right with God of such
left/right. Yet such is in heavens, for there are no sides in heaven.
Hebrews 10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies
be made his footstool.
Such speaks of Ps 110:1, but also of Is 66:1 where it notes heaven is
God's throne and the earth is his footstool. It also asks what the
place of his rest, and looking at Gen 2 we find it's only after the
seventh day gets both blessed and sanctified that God rested.
Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for
ever them that are sanctified.
Perfected, being past tense, speaks of it as done, once and for all.
Yet what seems to require more time is awareness of such by all who
have been sanctified by abolition of law. For until it becomes
understood, and by all, many will draw back to law, sin imputation, and
sacrifices.
Hebrews 10:15 [Whereof] the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for
after that he had said before,
Albeit the Holy Ghost is a witness, but perhaps a false or questionable
witness. Watch the tricky wording here: after he had said before.
What's said after the before is also questionable.
Hebrews 10:16 This
[is] the covenant that I
will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my
laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
This is the before part of such before/after. Many get confused and see
it as the after part. Everything about the before part is plural: laws,
hearts, minds, and also them, for the host of them (prepared for war)
have plural heavens and earth.
Hebrews 10:17 And
their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Such is the after part, but also questionable, for
"will I" is a question, I will a statement. We should remember such
things are an allegory, and also a mystery.
Hebrews 10:18 Now
where remission of these [is, there is] no more offering for sin.
Tricky. Where remission of sins and iniquities, no more offering for
sin needed. Yet without bloodshed, sacrifice, there is no remission of
sin by law. It seems to be a vicious cycle.
Hebrews 10:19 Having
therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of
Jesus,
No doubt the blood of Jesus speaks better things
than the blood of Abell, yet such better is only the better of good
better best, like holier of holy holier holiest. Paul is speaking to
Hebrews, getting such to have boldness to enter the holiest, which only
the high priest entered, only annually, and only with blood, also a
rope tied to his leg due to fear of being smitten.
Hebrews 10:20 By
a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the
veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Of old/new it's new, and of dead/living it's living, the new and living
way into the holiest of holy holier holiest. Such is through the veil,
through his flesh
Hebrews 10:21 And
[having] an high priest over the
house of God;
And such a way, through the veil, to see what's veiled, is by an high
priest of the house of God
Hebrews 10:22 Let
us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our
hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with
pure water.
Drawing near to God is then with a true heart in full assurance of
faith (the law is not of faith), having our hearts sprinkled from an
evil conscience (no more sin consciousness).
Hebrews 10:23 Let
us hold fast the profession of [our] faith without wavering; (for he [is] faithful that promised;)
Let's hold fast to the fact we've been sanctified and forever perfected
without wavering
Hebrews 10:24 And
let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Let's provoke, have contention, the inciting sort, provoking one
another to love and good works of love. Let the contention be sharp if
needed, sharpness only for exhortation: up lifting.
Hebrews 10:25 Not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day
approaching.
The assembling of ourselves together is not all gathering in some
building nor in Jerusalem on certain holy days, but more like
assembling a six billion piece puzzle whereby all pieces fit in, but
all do not fit together. So we find those other pieces we do fit, as
individuals and groups, then keep trying to fit with other groups till
the puzzle fully assembled is a picture of grace... all the while
provoking one another to love (not fear) and to good works ( not evil
works).
Hebrews 10:26 For
if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the
truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
If when no law, no sin imputed, the only way we have to sin is to
un-abolish law, make a law and break it. I
can't imagine any doing such once they have received and understood the
knowledge of the truth: grace is sufficient (no law req'd), especially
since it was a once for all.
Hebrews 10:27 But
a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which
shall devour the adversaries.
If we sin (only law imputes sin: Rom 5:13,
only law is the strength of sin: 1Cor 15:56) willfully after knowing
better, then we might find ourselves being the sacrifice for such law
worketh wrath.
Hebrews 10:28 He
that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three
witnesses:
Looking at Mosaic law we find it got rather
merciless to all when provoked by some (Heb 3), to the point all saved
out of Egypt got destroyed (Jude 5). So the point made here is not to
be law abiding, but rather to perceive law merciless and deadly, a
ministration of death (2Cor 3).
Hebrews 10:29 Of
how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who
hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of
the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath
done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
Doing despite to the Spirit of grace is simply
adding law to grace is sufficient. Doing such is as trodding under foot
the Son of God, by whom came grace, and by whom we are sanctified.
Hebrews 10:30 For
we know him that hath said, Vengeance [belongeth] unto me, I will recompense, saith the
Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
The Lord associated with vengeance is law.
Merciful God is void of vengeance. So law judges law folk, and seems to
judge all such guilty as hell, for law is a ministration of
condemnation.
Hebrews 10:31 [It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of
the living God.
The use of (plural) "hands" suggests the left/right sides in (plural)
heavens, where law seems to be the living God; For the use of the term
"fall" suggests being drawn away from heaven (higher than the heavens),
where there is no law, to heavens and the sides war thereof.
Hebrews 10:32 But
call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were
illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
There is always a trial, or test, to see if
your illumination is all light and no
darkness at all. If not, it won't likely endure, and may require
some further housecleaning. For if fear is kicked out, but source of
fear remains, then it gives place for fear to return with seven more
wicked.
Hebrews 10:33 Partly,
whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions;
and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
Partly and partly is two parts, which speaks
of imperfect part not yet done away when the perfect part is come: 1Cor
13. For when grace and truth is come, the law and lie part is to be
done away; And when mercy is come, sacrifice is to be done away; And
when peace is come, war is to be done away; just as becoming man kind
involves putting away childish things.
Hebrews 10:34 For
ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of
your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and
an enduring substance.
I can't think of any comment to make on this verse.
Hebrews 10:35 Cast
not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of
reward.
Confidence speaks of freedom in speaking, boldness, unreservedness,
frankness, without any concealment, openly, plainly, free and fearless
assurance, cheerful courage... of His grace.
Hebrews 10:36 For
ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye
might receive the promise.
Do the will of God PRECEDES receive the
promise. Receive the promise (eternal life)
notably comes after ye have
done the will
of God,
which is "I will have mercy, and not sacrifice", is to allegory say I will
grace, and not law when probating
the will of God
our Saviour will have all men
saved(graced) and aware what delivered
from: Law (God our
Destroyer, on high).
Hebrews 10:37 For
yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not
tarry.
He that shall come speaks of Gen 15:4, and of he that shall be heir;
and heir speaks of being no more
children nor servants,
but a son, the son of promise. And Gal 4 reminds us to cast out the law
(bondwoman = this Agar = Mt
Sinai = law) and the result of the law: sin & death (her son);
and so that we are not children of the bondwoman (law), but (man kind)
of the free, who are not children at all, but man kind of child/man,
and the better
blessed: no sin imputation, which speaks of no law, for only law
imputes sin (to all) and then sin brings forth death (to all).
Grace doesn't tarry: where sin (law imputes sin) abounded, grace did
"much more" abound. Rather is it law that seems to hinder, delay,
linger, tarry so long, so long after it's expiry date.
Hebrews 10:38 Now
the just shall live by faith: but if [any man] draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure
in him.
The just shall live by faith,
and such is "now" of then/now. Notably "the law is not of faith": Gal
3:11; so drawing back to law is not unto faith, but unto
unbelief. No pleasure, when it comes to God, speaks of fools (who
sit in Moses' seat:
law), and of them, and of sacrifice, which is "of the law". God never
took pleasure in it, for his will is "I will have mercy,
and not sacrifice".
Hebrews 10:39 But
we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that
believe to the saving of the soul.
Two sorts of "them":
draw back to perdition <-them | them-> believe to saving of the
soul, which still speaks of plural heavens and a sides war, albeit the
better sort of them believes to the saving of the soul. Above such, in
heaven (higher than the heavens), is us all, no them at all.
Adam was a living soul, so we're talking the saving of Adam (also
called them in Gen 5:2); but not by drawing back to law and Adamic
soulishness, rather going on unto perfection of no law, not even
a mention of it at the end. Not to mention last Adam, the Lord from
heaven, such pure
religion doesn't need salvation, rather is salvation to first Adam.
Drawing back to law
speaks of going Back-ward: bwd to ye-ward instead of fwd to you-ward; bwd to them-ward
instead of fwd to us-ward;
bwd to law worketh wrath
instead of fwd to God-ward.

Comparing
the Conclusion of Hebrews with the Conclusion of the Holy Bible:
Conclusion
of To The Hebrews
(a mini bible
itself): "Grace
with you
all. Amen."
Conclusion of Holy
Bible: "The grace of
our Lord Jesus Christ with you all.
Amen."
